Monaghans were appointed as Building Owner’s Party Wall Surveyor and Consultant for ‘Neighbourly Matters’ relating to the demolition of two existing properties and the construction of a new 11 storey luxury student accommodation building.
Monaghans provided initial advice and guidance, through to the service and preparation of Awards. Separately, we also negotiated and obtained scaffold licences, oversailing agreements and agreements for access, to enable the smooth running of the project.
- Provided strategy reports and advice to adjust the design, resulting in fewer notices and Awards being required.
- Proactively engaged with Adjoining Owners to either obtain consent or agree to Monaghans’ being appointed as the ‘Agreed Surveyor’, reducing fees and delays.
- Preparing Schedules of Condition, protecting both Owners.
- Providing an Advocate role and negotiating multiple scaffold licences, assisting with the district heating wayleave agreement, and crane oversailing licenses.
