New guidance on Gateway 3 Building Control Approval for Completion Certificates for Higher-Risk Buildings

BuildUK have now issued new guidance on applying for Building Regulations Completion Certificates at HRB Gateway 3. This is good news and follows the CLC Guidance on Gateway 2 Applications issued in July 2025.

This guidance includes support on full or partial completion, setting out the structure and contents needed for a successful application. Many documents which were submitted for the Gateway 2 approval will now have to be updated for the handover, including much of the information included in the Golden Thread.

Since the Regulations came into force, Monaghans’ Building Regulation Consultancy are active on 130+ building regulations projects, including multiple HRBs applications acting as Principal Designer, Client Advisor, and/or Higher Risk Building Consultant.
