Job Description:

An opportunity exists for an Approved Inspector or Building Regulations Surveyor to join our Sheffield office to work on projects in the Commercial, Residential, Leisure and Retail sectors throughout England & Wales [AH1] and help Monaghans prepare for and implement the new duty holder roles created under the Building Safety Act 2022 and The Building Regulations etc. (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2023.

Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate a proven track record in building control compliance delivery as an Approved Inspector or Building Control Inspector for a diverse range of instructions, alongside excellent communication skills with all levels of staff both internally and outside an organisation. Strong people management and leadership skills are an advantage. A great team and work ethic are essential. The candidate will also be responsible for delivering training for other team members including building surveyors and H&S professionals, to train them in building regulation compliance and management, as we provide Principal Designer (Building Regulations) services to our clients.

A detailed and in-depth understanding of Building Regulations and Fire Safety of residential, leisure and commercial buildings is required, together with desktop technical auditing and on-site inspections, plans checking and compliance management. Management support for training and development of others to carry out building regulations compliance checks and management.

Candidates should be MRICS or MCABE or CIOB (Level 4 Diploma in Building Control Surveying) qualified.
